Worth The Travel In Australia’s Summer

The Gold Coast is known for its beautiful white beaches, hot summers and towering skyscrapers.

If your planning a trip for the summer holidays, make sure you don’t miss out on all the great things to see and do!

Looking for some quiet time? Find Places to relax

Pick up your favorite book and rewind. Looking to head to the beach? One of my family favorite spots it’s at Burleigh Heads.

There is something about the atmosphere there than other parts of the Gold Coast.

With a surf club with a diner there, you won’t have to go far to get a quick bite to eat and yet see the real surfy life in Australia. Even though you are not looking to try out surfing, enjoy the beaches and food and you will feel blissed while spectating on the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Burleigh Heads is one of the finest surfing beaches in the state. The bottom is all sand, and the southeasterly breezes along.

A short climb up the cliff at the Burleigh Heads National Park offers a stunning view of the beach and coastline that extends to the north. A backdrop of Norfolk Island Pines makes an ideal place to hide from the sun and enjoy lunch with the cool breeze sweeping along the beach – grab a surfboard and give it a go!

Surf Lifesavers patrol the beach every day of the year, from 8:00 AM to 5:00PM.

Burleigh Heads- The Tranquille part of town

Burleigh Heads is between Surfers Paradise to the north and Coolangatta to the south. If you fancy a long stroll, why not take a walk from burleigh along the beach and absorb the sea view and surfing activities.

On a day when it might be a little choppy everywhere else along the Coast, there is always a protected area you can go to swim. Burleigh National Park offers views of the ocean on the left and a number of walking trails and wildlife to experience.

The Burleigh foreshore is home to towering fragrant pine trees and in this parkland there are plenty of places in which to picnic or barbecue. This is also an ideal spot for regular art and craft markets, where you can haggle along the foreshore with the ocean in the background to finish off the day with a long beach stroll. Oceanfront dining exists here where you’ll be guaranteed it’s definitely fresh straight from the water and there’s a funky café culture in these parts.

Head inland to West Burleigh in which a large industrial park contains some great shopping and a delicious dining scene.

Looking for something on the wild side?

Be sure there is something for everyone here at the Gold Coast.

Why not try a trip out on the Aquaduck? A fun trip out which I found rather amusing – A bus that transforms into a boat! So no walking from a bus to a boat, just sit back and enjoy it all!

Your journey will begin in the heart of Surfers Paradise, taking in views of the famous, golden Gold Coast beaches while waddling along the beachfront. The tour then heads past the 5 star resorts of Palazzo Versace and the Sheraton Mirage before ducking straight into the magnificent Broadwater at the Spit where the water-borne portion of the tour begins.

The vehicle then “transforms” into a boat as the Aquaduck goes harbour cruising, taking in the sights of Seaworld, Marina Mirage, Australia Fair, Mariners Cove, The Yacht Club, fabulous millionaires homes, canals and more from the water!

  • Tours depart daily at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm, 3pm, 4.15pm and 5.30pm from the duck desk at 36 Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise

  • 9am tour is also available during the peak season

HOW TO GET TO THE GOLD COAST

Eastern Australia Built Upon The Beautiful Queensland

Depending on your destination and airline, you can travel straight to Gold Coast airport. If you are not able to find a flight that will go direct, you can travel from Brisbane airport which takes about over an hours drive straight. If you want to avoid the traffic altogether, you can take a train which may cut out the prices of taxis and distance times.
